Butters & Oils:

A

  • Apricot Kernel Oil - pressed from the seeds of an apricot. Apricot oil closely resembles the natural sebum of the skin, easily absorbing into the skin.  Apricot oil is rich in vitamin A.
  • Argan Oil - In its native region in Morocco, the Argan Tree is called the “Tree of Life,” because the locals use the fruits’ oil to heal ailments and beautify themselves, earning the well deserve nickname “Liquid Gold.”  Argan oil enhances the appearance and texture of skin and hair, easily hydrating, conditioning, and softening both without leaving a greasy residue.  Argan Oil soothes inflamed and irritated skin, while reducing the appearance of scarring and balancing skin’s natural moisture and oil production.
  • Avocado Oil -  Avocado Oil is ideal for use in soaps for its emollience as well as its lathering and cleansing properties. Avocado Oil is commonly used in cosmetics, due to its fast rate of penetration and absorption, its high vitamin content, its subtle aroma that can easily be masked, and its excellent preservative qualities.
    *Contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents to help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic as well as soothing and adds moisture to skin.

B

  • Babassu Oil - Babassu oil is a tropical oil made from the seeds of the babassu palm, a tree native to the rain forests of South America.
    *Packed with antioxidants and healthy fats, it can boost the health of your skin and hair, moisturizing them without causing you to feel greasy or develop acne.
  • Beeswax- Beeswax is a natural substance generated and secreted by honey bees. Used cosmetically, Beeswax hydrates, conditions, soothes, and calms the skin. It exfoliates, repairs damage, promotes the skin’s regeneration, diminishes the appearance of the signs of aging, soothes itchiness and irritation, and creates a hydrating, long-lasting protective barrier against environmental pollutants. Used medicinally, Beeswax helps soothe and facilitate the healing of abrasions. It prevents harmful bacteria from entering the body through chapped and broken skin and it provides the skin with a layer of protection against external irritants. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties benefit those who suffer from topical allergies or skin ailments, such as eczema and rosacea.

C

  • Canola - Canola Oil is rich in Essential fatty acids like Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which are good for your skin. These Essential fatty acids, keeps skin hydrated and protects it against depletion. It is a non-comedogenic oil, that means it doesn’t clog pores, which makes it safe to use for oily skin type and acne prone skin, because it can still nourish the skin without clogging pores. It also has Vitamin E which acts as an excellent antioxidant, which helps with premature or stressful aging. Hydrating nature of Canola oil also prevents cracks, fine lines and roughness on skin. Canola oil is also used in stimulating hair growth and removing dandruff from the scalp.
  • Castor - is a thick, odorless oil made from the seeds of the castor plant. Because it's rich in fatty acids, castor oil has moisturizing effects and is a great additive to soap for this reason.
  • Cocoa Butter - Cocoa butter is rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun's harmful UV rays.The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture.
  • Coconut Oil - Coconut oil has many benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

E

  • Evening Primrose Oil - Used cosmetically or topically Evening Primrose Oil exhibits soothing and moisturizing properties, and it is gentle enough for use on sensitive and prematurely aging skin. It is reputed to not only moisturize but to also enhance elasticity as well as the texture of flaking or peeling skin, making it an ideal ingredient for mature skin.

F

  • Fractionated Coconut Oil (aka MCT Oil) - Fractionated Coconut Oil is a Virgin Coconut Oil that has been distilled, allowing long-chain fatty acids to separate and solidify for removal. What remains is ultralight Coconut Oil that stays in liquid form at cooler temperatures. Fractionated coconut oil penetrates better into the skin than regular coconut oil and does not leave a greasy film. It has an emollient effect that can soften and hydrate dry skin. Antioxidant and antibacterial properties in coconut oil can further help promote skin health.

G

  • Grapeseed Oil- Grapeseed Oil is high in linoleic acid which helps to strengthen the skin's barrier reducing redness and inflammation caused by breakouts. Grapeseed oil contains Vitamin E, an amazing ingredient that reduces inflammation and hydrates the skin to plump fine lines and wrinkles.

H

  • Hemp Seed Oil - Nourishing and moisturizing: Hemp oil is rich in essential fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6, which are beneficial for the skin's health. It helps to moisturize and nourish the skin, keeping it hydrated and preventing dryness.

I

  • Illipe Butter - Illipe butter is obtained from the nuts of shorea stenoptera tree, a magnificent tree that grows in the forests of Borneo.   It is believed to the most nourishing and healing of all butters.  Illipe nut butter contains oleic, palmitic, stearic, and linoleic fatty acids, as well as vitamins A and E. All of these acids and vitamins have a positive bioactive effect on the body.

J

  • Jojoba Oil-  jojoba oil comes from the beans of a desert shrub.  Jojoba Oil has anti-inflammatory properties which help to tame chaffing and chapping, reduce redness caused by drying, ease the effects of eczema and rosacea, and keep skin calm and comfortable. The Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins in the Jojoba Oil help in skin repair and damage control.

K

  • Kokum Butter - Kokum butter is an oil derived from the seeds of a fruit-bearing tree called the kokum tree.  Kokum trees — formally known as Garcinia indica — are primarily cultivated in tropical regions of India.  It can be used to improve the moisture content of almost every part of the body, including your skin, lips, feet, scalp, and hair.  Unlike other similar types of plant-based butters, kokum butter is not very heavy. It’s absorbed into the skin easily, so you’re not left with a greasy feeling after application.

L

  • Laurel Berry Oil- produced from the berries and seeds of the Laurus nobilis shrub that is native to the Mediterranean, particularly Greece and Turkey.  Laurel Berry oil is known for its antibacterial, anti-fungal, and skin soothing properties.

M

  • Mango Butter- Mangifera indica, the mango tree, provides the seed from which the butter or oil is extracted. Mangoes grow widely in tropical climates. The main producers are India, Indonesia, China, Mexico and Pakistan.  Mango butter softens and plumps the skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, heals scars and blemishes, relieves eczema, psoriasis and persistent dry skin.

N

  • Neem Oil- Neem oil is extracted from the neem tree. It is very beneficial for both skin and hair health. It is used as a medicine for some skin diseases. Antiseptic properties of neem add immense value to various products such as medicines and beauty and cosmetic products. It is also used in pesticides and as a natural insect repellent.

O

  • Olive Oil-  Olive oil is known for its moisturizing properties due to being rich in essential fatty acids, including oleic acid, linoleic acid, and stearic acid.

R

  • Rice Bran Oil- Rice bran oil contains powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids. These compounds work together fighting off free radicals that can lead to wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging.

S

  • Sea Buckthorn Oil - Sea buckthorn oil contains high levels of vitamin E which helps keep your skin feeling moisturized and soft. It also has vitamin K, which helps promote collagen production for fuller skin and fewer wrinkles
  • Shea Butter contains high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins making it an ideal cosmetic ingredient for softening skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body, especially your face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin.
  • Sunflower Oil-  Sunflower oil is a non-comedogenic carrier oil which is highly absorbent, and won’t clog pores. It’s non-irritating for most people, and can be used on all types of skin, including dry, normal, oily, and acne-prone.

T

  • Tamanu Oil - Tamanu oil is a fatty nut oil that is pressed from the seeds of the tamanu tree. It is often used as a skin care ingredient for anti-aging and wound healing. Tamanu oil is antibacterial and antifungal. It can help fight bacteria and fungus on the skin.  Contains antioxidants which fight free radical damage.

W

  • Wheat Germ Oil- oil that’s extracted from wheat kernels. It’s an excellent source of nutrients, including antioxidant-rich vitamin E, omega fatty acids, and other essential nutrients.  Wheat Germ oil moisturizes, supports skin health, soothes, and helps reduces signs of aging.
